Product of Peru
Organic Panela or Rapadura sugar. This raw sugar is derived from sugar cane grown by organic farming families int he small villages of El Palto and Checopon in the northern mountains of Peru. It is produced by pressing the juice from the fresh sugar cane. Water is evaporated from the juice leaving a beautiful tasting sugar with important minerals and trace minerals. The remaining crystalised mass is then crushed without any additional refinement.
